About Willie Howell

Willie Howell, III grew up in our nation's capital, Washington, D.C. His drum journey began at the age of two, when he began air drumming in church with clothes pens. This led to him playing drums in church and on the local music scene, which led to many more opportunities for him.

Willie's positive attitude and high energy allow him to perform more than 200 shows per year. He has had the pleasure of serving as the Music Director for EL Debarge and has shared the stage with artists such as Ginuwine, Wale, Crisette Michelle, Eric Roberson, CCB, RareEssence, Vybe, and Chitty Bang, to name a few. He is the drummer for Still Familiar and The Willie Howell Project right presently.

Willie also established himself as a producer of things by co-creating a platform with EL Debarge.

Willie believes that his father, the late Willie Howell Jr., his mother, Anne Bishop, and his four sons inspire him to strive for excellence in his craft. He is also a drum educator and the creator of Howell2Drum, which allows him to share the wonderful gift of music with his community.
